Halloween Family Fun

Halloween is such an exciting time in Glasnevin & Drumcondra, and the Skylon is the perfect location to reach all the Halloween Family Fun that Dublin offers.  With the changing of seasons come a burst of colour in the Botanic Gardens (located just a few minutes’ walk from the Skylon), as well as a Mid-Term Tales suitable for all ages in Glasnevin Cemetery. Please see below for some Halloween recommendations.

What: Children’s Mid Term Tales

Where: Glasnevin Cemetery

When: October 28th- November 5th 2017

Designed especially for children this brand new tour will showcase some of the cemetery’s most entertaining stories. This Mid-Term, bring the whole family to hear fascinating tales of torpedoed ships, assassinated parrots and grave robbing galore. From the RMS Leinster to poisonous Yew trees, bring the history of Glasnevin Cemetery to life with this family friendly tour.

What: Decorated Pumpkin Competition

Where: Botanic Gardens

When: Saturday 21st of October 10:00- 16:00

Take part in the decorated pumpkin competition and your pumpkin can be part of a fantastic exhibition to be displayed in the Teak House. This unique event is a big hit with their visitors every year.

What: Dress up Day

When: Sunday 22nd of October

It’s Dress up Day when all you witches and ghouls can dress to distress! View the Halloween Harvest Display and Decorated Pumpkin Exhibition, help spin a Giant Spider Web through the oak trees, and discover all about Magical Plants when you visit the witches in their garden! It all kicks off at 12.00pm. Prize giving for the Decorated Pumpkin Competition will be at 3.00pm in the Teak House.

What: Happy Hauntings at the Butlers Chocolate Experience this Halloween

Where: Butlers Chocolate

When: October 28th until Tuesday October 31st

On arrival, the gals and ghouls will be greeted by the resident Witch. A Chocolate Movie will be played for all to enjoy followed by a stroll around the Interactive Chocolate Museum & view the Butlers Chocolate Factory. Next, everyone will be escorted to the Experience Room, where disguised as Butlers Chocolatiers everyone will enjoy a demonstration and decorate their own chocolate pumpkin to take home. All visitors should come dressed in their scariest Halloween costume to be eligible to win a prize for the best dressed.
